Students currently in grades 8-11 will soon begin meeting with the Guidance Office for their annual Credit Chats.

During these short meetings, students will sit down with a guidance staff member to:
• Review credits that have already been earned
• Discuss what credits are still needed for graduation
• Look ahead at what next school year may look like
• Choose electives for the upcoming year

These meetings are an important step in helping students stay on track for graduation and plan for their future.

Parents: If you would like to talk with your student about their academic plans, goals, or elective choices, now is a great time to start those conversations at home!

Credit Chats will take place March 30 – April 10.

This week in Mrs. Roberts’ Middle School Creative Photography classes, students started learning about commercial and marketing photography. They put the photography and design skills they’ve been building all year to work in a hands on studio project.

Students photographed a product in the studio, paying attention to lighting, composition, and background to create a strong image. After taking their photos, they edited them to create a clean, professional look. To finish the project, each student designed their own marketing graphic, coming up with their own slogans, fonts, and color choices to turn their photo into an advertisement.

It was a great way for students to see how photography is used in the real world — from product photos to marketing and advertising. Great job by these creative photographers!

Help Us Earn This Perfect Vintage Golf Cart We have a perfect vintage 1985 Club Car DS (36V) — and we’ve been told that if we can get it running, we can keep it for our welding program. We believe it just needs power — and we’ll be doing all the body work and fabrication in-house with our students. Our goal is to turn it into a mobile welding rig to serve our school and community — handling small repairs, campus projects, and giving students real-world electrical and fabrication experience. Right now we’re looking for: • 36V golf cart batteries • A compatible 36V charger • Or help with a battery/conversion setup If you’d like to help us bring this classic back to life and support the next generation of tradesmen, message me. Let’s get it powered up and put it to work. 🔧⚡ — Michael Hurley Welding Instructor

BHS JV & Varsity Cheerleading Tryouts For decades, attendance at a mandatory parent meeting has been a required step prior to tryouts for Branford Cheer. That expectation has been clearly communicated and consistently upheld. At this time, an additional mandatory parent meeting will be held for any remaining interested athletes. When: Friday, February 27 at 3:00 PM Where: Branford High School – Main Building This will serve as the final opportunity for parent attendance prior to tryouts. All established requirements and deadlines will continue to be enforced moving forward. We appreciate the families who have consistently honored the structure and standards of this program.

Today some 11th & 12th grade students had the opportunity to attend Construction Career Day, and what an incredible experience it was!

Students explored hands-on demonstrations, connected with industry professionals, and learned about the many career pathways available in the construction and skilled trades field. From heavy equipment to specialized trades, they were able to see firsthand the skills, training, and opportunities that exist right here in our region.

Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to real-world careers and begin thinking intentionally about their futures after graduation. We are so proud of how our students represented our school today — respectful, engaged, and eager to learn!

A big thank you to the organizers and industry partners who invest in the next generation of workforce leaders.
