What a great night to be a Branford Buccaneer! We kicked off the evening with a student tailgate before Suwannee Air Rescue made an exciting fly-in delivery of the game ball. It was a powerful moment honoring the memory of September 11 during our Veterans and First Responders Night. From a packed-out student section and a great time with the band to excellent halftime performances by the band, dance team, and majorettes, the Buccaneer spirit was on full display! Our varsity cheerleaders did an amazing job cheering and keeping the crowd engaged all night long. And the icing on the cake-such an exciting game and a big 58-26 Buccaneer victory! It was truly a beautiful night to be in Branford. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special!

Thank you to Randall Dasher and Sara Carte for your donation of lettuce transplants for our aquaponic system. The transplants were planted by the students in the recirculating system.

Anatomy just got a little sweeter! Today in Ms. Santos’s Anatomy & Physiology class, students put their knowledge of anatomical body planes to the test with a Sour Patch Kids Lab! Students used Sour Patch Kids as their “specimens” and carefully made cuts to demonstrate the sagittal, midsagittal, frontal (coronal), and transverse planes. This hands-on activity gave students a fun way to visualize how the human body can be divided and viewed from different directions. Who knew learning anatomy could be sweet, sour, and scientific?!

Lots of chances to show your team spirit at home this week, as well as your USA spirit as both volleyball and varsity football are having patriotic themed games. JV football has their first home game this week, golf continues with their seasons, and Cross Country kicks it off Saturday with their first race of the year. FAST Math PM1 for 6th-8th grade math students will be on September 9. Algebra 1 EOC retakes will also be on September 9. Make sure to have a charged Chromebook.

Branford High School students in grades 6–12 and pre-approved guests are invited to join us for the 2026 Homecoming Dance! 📅 Saturday, October 3 📍 Branford Shrine Club • Middle School: 5:00–8:00 PM • High School: 8:30–11:30 PM Presale tickets are $15 per person. A completed permission slip and Extracurricular Activities Waiver are required to attend. Permission slip packets may be picked up from the front office or Mrs. Roberts. IMPORTANT DEADLINES: • BHS students bringing a guest: All paperwork and payment are due to Mrs. Roberts by September 23. Guests must be approved in advance, including verification with their school. • BHS students not bringing a guest: All paperwork and payment are due to Mrs. Roberts by September 30. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 for BHS students only. Absolutely no guest tickets will be sold at the door because all guests must be approved before the dance. BHS students will still be required to be in good standing with the Buccaneer Benchmark and have a parent signed permission slip in order to purchase a ticket at the door. Any Junior or Senior needing a graduation concordant score for their 10th grade ELA and/or Algebra 1 EOC graduation requirements will have a chance to take three different test at school in October. The PSAT will be given on October 9th with a cost of $6.00 for Juniors and $10.50 for Seniors. The payment for this test is due by September 25th. The NCR ACT will be given on October 21st with a cost of $43.00. The payment for NCR ACT is due on October 9th. The CLT will be given on October 28th with a cost of $34.50. The payment for the CLT test is due on October 9th. Money can be sent as exact cash or check made payable to Branford High School. The BHS culinary students were honored to cater the meal at the Take Stock In Children dinner to welcome new students and mentors to the program.
