Congratulations to Calyssa Dicks for winning the Columbia County Farm Bureau speech contest. She has advanced to districts.

The BHS culinary students were honored to cater the meal at the Take Stock In Children dinner to welcome new students and mentors to the program.

Congratulations to Branford Middle School FFA officers for competing in the Suwannee County Farm Bureau Speech Contest. Ryleigh Dasher placed first, Annabelle Garcia placed second, and Colby Misinec placed third! 💙🧡

The Suwannee County Fire Rescue taught 169 Branford FFA members and the welding students basic first aid, CPR, and how to use a fire extinguisher. Captain Shawn Hillengas always does a phenomenal job with this and we look forward to him training our students each year.

BHS students are hard at work already!
Mrs. Clary’s 10th-grade English II students put their analytical skills into action with a hands-on lesson about theme development. Students raced in groups to complete a puzzle, but only one group was instructed to sort the pieces before assembling it. The activity demonstrated that, just like completing a puzzle, analyzing literature requires readers to examine the individual parts before they can understand the bigger picture.
Students then applied this strategy to a story by identifying its conflict, key events, character changes, and resolution. By putting these elements together, they were able to identify, analyze, and explain how the story’s theme developed. This engaging activity helped students see that every part of a story contributes to its overall message.

It’s another great week to be a Buccaneer!
Make plans to join us this week for Volleyball, Football, and Golf action and come out to support our Bucs!
REMINDER: Tuesday night’s HOME Volleyball match is CAMO NIGHT! Break out the camo, pack the stands, and cheer on our Lady Bucs!
