Due to the severe line of storms that came through the area this morning, and the resulting mass power outages that have occurred, the Suwannee County School District will be releasing school early today, Friday, May 10. Bus routes will begin to run at 12:30. Student drivers will be dismissed as soon as school administration deems it safe to do so. Parents and guardians are welcome to return to schools to check-out students at any time. All students are excused. Please make arrangements to have a responsible adult home at the time buses arrive to drop students off at their home. For younger bus riding students that do not have someone at home, those students may be returned to one of two locations for pick-up by a parent/guardian. Buses will run their routes slower than usual and may be significantly delayed due to downed trees. Please be patient. The designated pick-up location for after hours reunification of younger elementary students are at two locations: -Branford Elementary School for students in the south end of the District. -Suwannee Pineview Elementary for all Live Oak elementary schools.

With 26 years of teaching experience and a passion for agricultural education, Stacy embodies dedication and commitment to her students and community. Young says, “My high school agriculture teacher, Dr. Dale Layfield, inspired and motivated me to pursue a career in agricultural education. Agriculture is the industry that feeds us, clothes us, provides shelter for us and everything else needed for life.” It is clear that she not only imparts knowledge but also inspires and motivates her students, much like her own high school agriculture teacher did for her. This program is 7 weeks in length, meeting Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Program fee with scholarship: $133.00 (cost savings of $1,217.00!) Tuition supported by RTC College Scholarship (must complete scholarship application to qualify). Applicants will be required to submit to a drug test and background screening. Earn your Certified Nursing Assistant credential! Postsecondary Certificate Completers of Articulated program are eligible to work in any healthcare setting. Program begins June 3rd and ends July 30th.

Ayala's outstanding performance in the Automotive Collision Technology Technician Program at RIVEROAK has earned him well-deserved recognition. Nominated by his instructor, Charles Dickinson, Ayala's remarkable skills and quick learning ability have been evident since his first year in the program. His proficiency in repairing metal and plastic, as well as his aptitude for painting, have set him apart. Dickinson says, “Jesus is a ninth grade student, in his first year and he has caught on very quick. He is very good at repairing metal and plastic. He has also gotten good with painting. At SkillsUSA this year, he placed 4th at regionals and 2nd at state.” Ayala's passion for the automotive industry and his hands-on approach to learning have been evident since childhood. His decision to pursue further education at RIVEROAK reflects his commitment to honing his skills and advancing in his chosen field. Ayala says, “I have always been hands-on and I like the automotive industry since I was little.” As Ayala looks toward completing the program, his goal is to continue his journey in the automotive collision repair industry.
