Good afternoon,

While the effect of Hurricane Irma on Florida is still unclear, in order to allow schools and districts to focus their efforts on preparation for the storm and on the safety and well-being of students and school staff, the Department will postpone the opening of the Fall 2017 Retake and EOC testing windows. All FSA and NGSSS tests will begin no earlier than Monday, September 18, and we will ensure that students, schools, and districts have sufficient time to complete all fall testing. Please see the revised schedule below:

• Monday, September 18–Friday, September 29: FSA ELA Writing Retake and FSA EOCs
• Monday, September 18–Friday, October 6: FSA ELA Reading Retake, FCAT 2.0 Reading Retake, NGSSS EOCs

As the situation unfolds this week and next, we will assess the need for further adjustments, and you may contact our office should schools in your district require additional assistance due to the effects of Hurricane Irma.

Thank you,
